Giant Guide Dots (GGD)

  • Giant Guide Dots are exactly what they sound like. Guide dots which are much larger than usual, and which are found on a very few stamps.

    The first group of these dots was noticed on positions 2 and 92 of plates 5 and 6 of the 2¢ Carmine.

    Other, similar examples are also noted.

    Marler has several examples from the 2¢ plates 5 and 6 in his collection, but they were not mentioned in his book.
