2¢ Carmine 2UR97

Reiche No. 48 "white dot above 'C' of Cents, Plate No. 2, UR 97"

Comments

Accent over C of Cents Flaw ~ Reported by Reiche 1965 (again, with plate position in 1982),  Milos in 1984 and Séguin in 2008.Most Admiral flaws are most often found as markings in the colour of the stamp. This is reasonable as most flaws are the result of plate damage where the surface of the plate is lowered and thus filled with ink. This CPV would seem to be the result of something sticking to or raising the surface of the plate so that no ink would be present on that spot when the stamp was printed. There is a similar flaw found on another 2¢ Carmine - 8LR62.
