"there were also many subjects in which the bottom of the frame was retouched. These cannot be described either, except when the retouched line slanted away from the frame into the bottom margin. The most striking example of this is 104LR34"Matte states:

In the Matte collection, his selection of #606 examples contained both 104LR34 and 104LR92. The differences are quite subtle ~ note the retouched upper left top horizontal line.

- a) Retouch to top frame at left stops in left outer oval above right leg of third A. 7.7 mm from left frame.
- b) Retouch to bottom frame. Engraver’s slip begins below the N in CENTS and ends just past the 2 in the RNB. Similar slip on 104LR92.
