2¢ Carmine Coil 11UL40

"Doubling of the bottom of the frame."

Research notes:

This stamp is from Marler's personal collection, but does not seem to match his description for 11UL40. While there is very faint doubling along the bottom frame, the doubling of the right frame is stronger.

Leo's Notes

Re-entry (in Marler, but not fully described).

  • Doubling along the outside of the right frame
  • Doubling along the outside of the bottom frame below the LNB and the right side of the RNB
  • Marks in the top margin above the UL spandrel
  • Faint marks in the E in POSTAGE
  • Mark in the UR corner of the RNB
  • Doubling of the 2 in the RNB (obscured by heavy inking on the proof)

There is a retouch on the same stamp not mentioned by Marler:
  • UL horizontal line is malformed
  • The UL horizontal lines below the top one are thick

We use Statser to measure basic website usage without cookies. The system processes page views, clicks, form submissions without form contents, referrers, browser/device information, error pages, approximate visit duration, and pseudonymous visitor keys. Full IP addresses are not stored permanently by Statser; they are processed briefly on the server to create a pseudonymous visitor key, apply technical exclusions, and optionally resolve approximate GeoIP information. If GeoIP is enabled, the IP address is checked locally against a MaxMind GeoLite2 database to determine the approximate country or city. The visitor IP address is not sent to MaxMind. MaxMind is contacted only to download and update the GeoLite2 database. Detailed data is deleted after the configured detail retention period. For long-term trends, Statser also stores aggregated daily values without individual visitor profiles.
