3¢ Brown Plate Flaw 9 & 7 Dashes
Between the outside frame and the upper left spandrel, there are 16 very small dashes. Nine are in the top portion of the stamp, while seven are in the bottom of the left side.
This item may, or may not belong to the 'string of dashes' group.
Comments
- Most of these "String of Dashes" CPVs show the dashes in the upper left.
- Several authors have recognized these marks.
- Marler refers to "a dotted guide line that appears inside the frame either in the upper left or the lower left". This may be a reference to these CPVs.
- Reiche (No. 9) clearly indicates these CPVs. He may well have noticed the marks in the top margin as well.
