3¢ Brown Plate Flaw 17 Dashes

Between the outside frame and the upper left spandrel, there are 17 dashes.

Research notes:

Most of these "String of Dashes" CPVs show the dashes in the upper left.
Several authors have recognized these marks.
Marler refers to "a dotted guide line that appears inside the frame either in the upper left or the lower left". This may be a reference to these CPVs.
Reiche (No. 9) clearly indicates these CPVs. He may well have noticed the marks in the top margin as well.

We use Statser to measure basic website usage without cookies. The system processes page views, clicks, form submissions without form contents, referrers, browser/device information, error pages, approximate visit duration, and pseudonymous visitor keys. Full IP addresses are not stored permanently by Statser; they are processed briefly on the server to create a pseudonymous visitor key, apply technical exclusions, and optionally resolve approximate GeoIP information. If GeoIP is enabled, the IP address is checked locally against a MaxMind GeoLite2 database to determine the approximate country or city. The visitor IP address is not sent to MaxMind. MaxMind is contacted only to download and update the GeoLite2 database. Detailed data is deleted after the configured detail retention period. For long-term trends, Statser also stores aggregated daily values without individual visitor profiles.
