2¢ Carmine 6LL33

The lower left corner shows both retouching in the left numeral box and a defective transfer of the bottom frame. The vertical of the left numeral box extends through the bottom frame.

Research notes:

Confirmed by LB using the plate proofs at LAC.

Leo's Notes

  • The left frame bends outward slightly near the bottom. There is a white spot in the frame close to the bottom.

  • The bottom frame is irregular near the LL corner.

  • The vertical line of the LNB is thick except at the top. It extends faintly into the bottom margin.

  • The bottom line of the LNB is thin at the LL corner, but is otherwise normal.

Guide dot touching the right border of the left inner oval.

We use Statser to measure basic website usage without cookies. The system processes page views, clicks, form submissions without form contents, referrers, browser/device information, error pages, approximate visit duration, and pseudonymous visitor keys. Full IP addresses are not stored permanently by Statser; they are processed briefly on the server to create a pseudonymous visitor key, apply technical exclusions, and optionally resolve approximate GeoIP information. If GeoIP is enabled, the IP address is checked locally against a MaxMind GeoLite2 database to determine the approximate country or city. The visitor IP address is not sent to MaxMind. MaxMind is contacted only to download and update the GeoLite2 database. Detailed data is deleted after the configured detail retention period. For long-term trends, Statser also stores aggregated daily values without individual visitor profiles.
