2¢ Carmine 11UL1

Two of the upper horizontal spandrel lines in both the right and left are extended into the frames. There is a strong mark in the outer oval above the 'O' of Postage and many smaller marks throughout. In both the upper and lower right spandrels some horizontal lines cut the vertical line, which appear to have been retouched.

Research notes:

Some of the marks near the bottom of the left '2' and elsewhere on the stamp would have made a "Re-entry Zone 13" appropriate, but those marks would be difficult to ID as constant without additional examples.

The curved line in the top margin, above the 'D' of Canada, is constant.

Leo's Notes

  • Small dot in the middle member of the G in POSTAGE.

We use Statser to measure basic website usage without cookies. The system processes page views, clicks, form submissions without form contents, referrers, browser/device information, error pages, approximate visit duration, and pseudonymous visitor keys. Full IP addresses are not stored permanently by Statser; they are processed briefly on the server to create a pseudonymous visitor key, apply technical exclusions, and optionally resolve approximate GeoIP information. If GeoIP is enabled, the IP address is checked locally against a MaxMind GeoLite2 database to determine the approximate country or city. The visitor IP address is not sent to MaxMind. MaxMind is contacted only to download and update the GeoLite2 database. Detailed data is deleted after the configured detail retention period. For long-term trends, Statser also stores aggregated daily values without individual visitor profiles.
